     The Outbackers Class is an intergenerational class which including singles and couples. Issues facing Christians in the everyday world are springboards for class topics.  Lively discussions are generated by thought provoking questions based on biblical topics from books by contemporary authors like Max Lucado, J. Ellsworth Kalas, and James W. Moore. The Outbackers are a mission minded group that sponsors a missionary working in Madagascar, has "adopted" a local family, gives regularly to Urban Ministries, helps grow churches through The Ten Dollar Club, and other missions and ministries. Come join the Outbackers for Sunday School discussion, for fellowship and friendship and be a part of a group of Christians who really care about others. 

     
    The premise of the Serendipity Class is that the Bible is still relevant to  modern life.  In   searching out and exploring this relevance in our  personal lives, we do, in fact, encounter serendipity.  Webster defines  serendipity as "...the faculty of finding valuable or agreeable things  not sought for."  What we often find that as we search and study the  scriptures together, we explore new and old questions, we find how the  scripture applies to our daily lives and situations, we find personal  renewal, and we come to care for our classmates in a deeper way as we  learn from and about one another.

    The class is comprised of a diverse group of intergenerational  members, marital status, bible knowledge, and life experiences.  All of  this comes together to promote a safe environment for discussion as we  explore the scripture lesson, providing support for those asking  questions and sharing personal experiences as we share among friends.  We use a variety of teaching methods such as books, handouts, videos,  and interactive discussion, all based on scripture.  We believe prayer  works and we pray for those in need.
 

    
    The Homebuilders Class was formed expressly to discuss issues about parenting young children and encouraging the spiritual growth of children. The class addresses issues such as how to form Godly character in your children, teach your children to know God, to pray and how to parent with disciple and love. At the same time, the members of the Homebuilders Class are committed to nurturing their own spiritual lives as adults. Thus, the class alternates parenting studies with more general Bible studies that encourage their adult discipleship and growth in the Christian faith.  We hope that you can join us for some lively discussion.

    The Aldersgate Young Adults are not your 'normal' Sunday School class. They do not meet on Sunday morning, but rather gather for activities and events through out the month. The Young Adults class is for single or married young people between the ages of 19 and 35 who are looking to be a part of a group that wants to have a good fellowship time, discuss controversial issues, help the community and serve the church. The class does at least one social activity and at least one community/church-based outreach once a month. Come and join us in a fun-filled way to serve the Lord!
 

    The International Lesson Series, Adult Bible Studies  - This quarterly study presents stimulating lessons that explore the biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. The Glass Class invites all persons who are older in years but still young in heart to be a part of their weekly study and fellowship. The class is a caring fellowship of “young at heart” believers who use The International Sunday School Lessons for application for daily Christian living.  The name Glass Class may lead one to believe that the class membership is fragile.  This couldn’t be farther from the truth.  This dedicated class has learned the lessons of life and faces each day with a strong commitment and faith.  The class reflects the love and respect of the then retired founding minister of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in 1956, Dr. J. Glass. 
 

     C.S.I. Sunday School Class Study: We will be using a video series called Book by Book Through the Bible and we will be studying the Book of Jonah. We meet in Room 202 of the Family Life Center at 11:00 AM. So that we can order study guides, please register with Lisa Janes or Dale & Betty Wickham.

       The Alpha Course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues related to the Christian faith.  It is a rewarding experience for people who are interested in the Christian faith but who have not yet made a commitment to Christ, to new Christians just beginning their walk and to people who have been Christians for many years. It began in England in 1973 and has spread to numerous countries throughout the world. Alpha is supported by all the main Christian denominations, with over 13 million people attending courses.  The classes are low-key, friendly and fun and allow people to explore the Christian faith in an informal, relaxed, no-pressure setting.       Senior High Sunday School addresses the needs and concerns of the students in the 9^th - 12^th grades. Using faith to help us through our daily life and in our personal relationships is stressed. Our obligations to Christ are investigated and discussed. Using Biblical references, seniors are encouraged to communicate and problem-solve. The curriculum varies.
 

      Trained personnel are hired to work with the Nursery during Sunday School and Worship Services. The next-to-Sanctuary Nursery is used for the 8:45 AM service only. The nursery for Sunday school and the 10:55 AM service is in the Family Life Center room 104. Nursery childcare is for 0-36months during the 8:25 & 10:55 services and for 0 to 24 months at Sunday school time since there is a class for 2 year olds.
