The Aldersgate United
Methodist Church family appreciates greatly all of the gifts and
donations that have been made to support the mission and ministry of the
church. If you would like to make a gift of stocks or bonds, Aldersgate
has an established account with Smith Barney Brokerage. Stocks or bonds
can be routed through Smith Barney and deposited into the Aldersgate
account electronically.
If you would like to make
a donation in this way, please notify Cathy Sheffield, Aldersgate
secretary/treasurer. She will provide you with the Aldersgate account number and
the electronic transfer number. The transfer authorization letter with
signature guarantee that you send to your stockbroker must include both
the church account number and the electronic transfer number. Please
notify Cathy when contributions are made. That way, the church
can contact Smith Barney to make sure everything has transferred
smoothly. Contribution credit will be given to the donor based upon the
transaction value on the date the stock is posted to the church account
- typically the same day.
