The Agape Circle has an ongoing outreach ministry
project to provide our congregation with Agape Love Quilts, a prayer
quilt concept. The quilts are sewn as a tangible symbol of prayer, and
signed by anyone who is praying for the recipient and their need for
comfort. Purchase a quilt for a family member or friend and “blanket”
the recipient with knowledge that they are being lifted up through
prayer. Agape Love Quilts are
being sold for $25.00, to cover the cost of supplies to make them.
All money made is returned to this or other missions. They are
approximately 1 yard square, and a signing pen is provided. If
interested in selecting a quilt for someone, please contact Lynn
Anderson or Patty Kreiselman. Our selection will vary as
quilts are completed. If you have any questions about this
ministry, or how you can make one, we would be happy to help!

HELPING
HANDS CIRCLE
The
Helping Hands Circle began in 1992-1993 with only three members, Judy Maupin,
Pam Boatright and Ardith Smith. Named by Ardith Smith, the focus of the
circle is to do mission work and lend our helping hand inside the church as
well as the community.
Whether our hands are praying, cooking a meal, sewing a baby dress,
visiting nursing homes, or making health and school kits, we believe that
with many hands together we can complete any task. With only six members
in the early days, they served 100 people at the 1st Mother Daughter
Brunch. This yearly brunch has now become a trademark of The Helping Hands
Circle.
SUSANNA
WESLEY CIRCLE
‘Striving to give a helping hand wherever we
can whenever we can'
The
Susanna Wesley Circle was named for Susanna Wesley, the mother of John and
Charles Wesley. She is known
as “The mother of Methodism”. In
1711, while her husband was away in London, Mrs. Wesley adopted the
practice of reading within her family and instructing them.
One of the servants told his parents and they wished to attend.
Then they told others and attendance snowballed until the
congregations increased to over 200.
She read to them the best and most awakening sermons she could find
in the library and talked to the people freely and affectionately.
The
Aldersgate Susanna Wesley Circle is a service-oriented circle and is involved in
many service missions both within our local community and globally.
The
Susanna Wesley Circle meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at
7:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center
Snack Room. Circle members
rotate hosting these meetings.
