Upward Soccer

Our soccer league is for players aged Kindergarten to 5th grade. 

We have three divisions:

• K-1st grade
• 2nd-3rd grade
• 4th-5th grade

All of our divisions practice on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. 

Practices will be every Tuesday from August 25th until November 3rd. There will also be an optional practice on Saturday, September 5th at 9:00 a.m.

All of our divisions have games on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m.

Games will be every Saturday from September 12th through Nov 7th.

All Upward activities, practices, and games will be on the fenced activity field on our property at Aldersgate UMC. We take our large field and divide it into smaller soccer fields for each division. 

REQUIRED and included with each player's registration cost:

• Soccer jersey
• Soccer socks

REQUIRED but not included:

• Shin guards

OPTIONAL and not included:

• Soccer shorts (available from us for $10/each)
• Cleats

We do not hold tryouts. Our season begins with evaluations. 

ALL PLAYERS will need to attend a skills evaluation on Saturday, August 15. You can drop in anytime between 9:00-11:00 a.m. 

If you cannot make it on August 15, a makeup skills evaluation will be held on Sunday, August 16 at 1:30 p.m. This is not drop-in; you must arrive at 1:30 p.m. 

The skills evaluation is just a tool to help us create more evenly balanced teams. The evaluation is NOT A TEST. The players will kick the ball into goals, between cones, etc.; simple tasks to help us know where players are and start putting them on teams. 

Yes! If you are interested in helping coach, you can receive $10 off your player's registration. Please reach out to our Director of Family Ministries, Lydia Cauley, at lydia@aldersgate.org if you are willing to coach and would like to receive the coach discount code. 

Registration is $65 before July 31 and $75 starting August 1. This includes a jersey and a pair of soccer socks for each player.
