Lenten Discipleship Groups
Experience the gift of God’s mercy as we join together in small groups to experience prayer, scriptural encounters, and discussion. Explore your personal journey in relation to the Sunday sermon and scripture. We are challenging everyone to participate in a Lenten group.
R Wave Respite

Respite meets every Monday 10am-2pm
The R Wave Support Group meets on the first and third Monday’s of every month at 10:30 a.m. in room 207 of the FLC. Their next meeting is on March 16th.
R Wave Respite thanks the congregation for the generous financial donations in 2025, and the volunteer help. It’s because of you that this ministry is possible to reach out into the community.

Worship Series: Mercy In the Wilderness
Journey the Path to Easter through the Wilderness of Lent
Jesus' life is marked by the wilderness. Before his ministry began Jesus and his family navigated the wilderness of being refugees fleeing violence all before his time of temptation. Jesus was sustained through all his wilderness experiences by God’s mercy. He enters the wilderness of our lives to reveal that mercy is more than an action that God performs, but it is the essence of God’s identity. All lives are marked by wilderness. During this season of Lent we will be looking at the theme of Mercy in the Wilderness, opening our eyes to God’s mercy meeting us and awakening compassion for all who are experiencing wilderness in their lives.
Community Pickleball
Join us in the LFC Gym on Tuesday Feb 24th from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for community pickleball. Join in a play full games or volley back-and-forth with friends. Grab a paddle and come join us for a fun evening.
Sacred Stitches
Sacred Stitches Prayer Ministry is meeting Sunday, March 1 at 3pm in the Wesley Room. All skill levels are welcome and supplies can be provided. Questions, contact Susan Parham at parham.susan@gmail.com.
UMM Yard Sale
SAVE THE DATE ! On Saturday, March 21, from 8:00-12:00, the first ever community wide Men’s Yard Sale will be held in the parking lot closest to the Christmas Tree lot. Each seller will be assigned a numbered parking space (41 available) and offer their items for sale from the back of their vehicle or their table.
Pre-registration is required by email to royswaringen@gmail.com. The cost per space is $40 with $20 refunded upon demonstrated clearance of the space. This is a great opportunity to get rid of unused clothing, tools or whatever is filling up your garage or attic.
Keto Support Group
With the help of Dr. Eric Westman from Duke, we coordinated A keto support group for both members of the church and Non members. This group meets the first Monday of every month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the FLC Gym. Come join this great group!
Crop Walk
WHAT: One of the largest walks in America – Greater Durham Crop Walk. A 3.2 mi. walk for the Hungry
WHEN: March 29th at 2pm
WHERE: Start at Duke Chapel, walk thru parts of Old Durham, returning to the Chapel.
WHY: Help raise funds for 13 hunger related agencies in the greater Durham area, and dozens of national and international groups.
HOW: Register/get signed up to walk by…….
1. Go to “Durham Cropwalk 2026” site, click on the “Connect to the 2026 online giving site” in the bottom left corner, search Aldersgate UMC team, and sign up to walk – or sponsor a walker!!
2. Or get sponsor packets and information about the walk on the card table in the Narthex starting March 8th. Even if you can’t walk with us – you can sponsor someone! AND……. T-Shirts will be available for a suggested donation of $5
starting on the 8th.
Come help us “walk rightly with the Lord”!!
Spring Consignment Sale
The Agape Shop 4 Kids Spring and Summer Consignment Sale will take place on March 20th - 22nd. We welcome new consignors, shoppers, and volunteers!
