Acts of Kindness Introduction

After Jesus had sent his disciples out to spread the good news, Luke

records in Chapter 10 the following message. “After this the Lord

appointed 70 others and sent them on ahead of Him, two by two, where He

Himself was about to go.” He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the

laborers are few.”

People are ready for the message of the good news if only they can be

reached. That is our job to pave the paths for the future that is fully living

into our mission focus of loving God and loving our neighbors as ourselves.

So, 70 means we are celebrating 70 years of ministry, of paving paths. It

also means we are to be those who are sent to bring the news of the

kingdom of God to others for another 70 years.

Maybe that means that we all commit to doing 70 acts of kindness in this

coming year. There are suggestions of acts of kindness listed below. You

can also think of others.

You received index cards and a pen in the bag you received on January

feeling. You can write down an act of kindness you received that was

especially meaningful. You may also write down suggestions for acts of

kindness. We will display these cards throughout the year.
