Five-Talent Stories - Lee King & John Sanders

During our 5 Talent worship experience we invited the people of Aldersgate to share some of their God Story.

Lee King: I think that many times when the Holy Spirit speaks to us, it feels very natural. When a person desires to follow God’s will, the Holy Spirit is always present to help.
One time when I was especially aware of the Holy Spirit speaking to me was when I was asked by the pastor to give a prayer during the Sunday morning worship service on Mother’s Day. I was given a week before the service to prepare the prayer. I began to write down the thoughts I wanted to include. As the week progressed, thought would come to me “out of the blue” when I was working or during the night. I would stop what I was doing and go write them down. It turned out to be a prayer of awe and gratitude to God for the privilege of being a mother and contributing to Creation.

John Sanders: My faith story began with my parents taking me to Sunday School, church, youth, and youth camps all my younger life. It has grown from there. It’s even more amazing now. God’s love – It is shown to me every day. A beautiful sunrise, grandchildren, my wife, my sister, my brother, my daughters, my son, and their families. The Holy Spirit has helped me especially in the 8:30 morning worship service by getting (wanting) to get more involved and sharing and receiving with and from others. Christ’s forgiveness – happens to me every day. I don’t spend as much time with Him as He spends with me forgiving me for what I have done and for what I have NOT done!! It gives me great JOY to be able to SHARE and listen in our 8:30 service and our church and community.
